
CMTS Internship Program
Program Overview
The CMTS internship provides hands-on experience across technical and operational areas that directly support research environments, building skills applicable to careers in research operations, business management, and technical fields.
The CMTS Internship Program is a structured, semester-based experience where interns are placed within key sectors, such as Business Operations, DevOps, Infrastructure, or Business Relationship Management, and gain exposure to the systems that enable research success across all disciplines.

Interns contribute to documentation, workflow improvements, and system enhancements.

Diverse Areas Of Experience
Interns can contribute to a diverse range of areas, including Technology and Engineering, Software and Applications, Web and Digital Platforms, Business Operations, Business Relationship Management, Business Development, and Project Management.
Undergraduate & Graduate Tracks
Undergraduate tracks are open to junior and senior students and offer guided, hands-on experience with structured support. Graduate tracks offer independent work with strategic and leadership opportunities.
Career Readiness
Resume support, feedback, and optional letters of recommendation help prepare students for future roles.
Capstone Presentation
Interns complete a capstone project that addresses a real CMTS need. Deliverables may include visual dashboards, process improvements, or internal reports. Projects are presented to CMTS leadership at the end of the semester.
STEM-Based Learning
Students build technical skills, systems thinking, and problem-solving through real-world experience.

Application Timeline
The internship posting remains open year-round on HireAggies. Applications are reviewed during the six weeks prior to the start of each Fall and Spring semester.
- Spring Semester Internship Start: Mid-January
- Fall Semester Internship Start: Late August

Professional experience is NOT required, but applicants are encouraged to include any relevant work experience in their application.
How To Apply
- Launch the HireAggies portal
- Log in using your NetID (SSO)
- Choose โCurrent Students: Single Sign-Onโ and log in with your TexasโฏA&M NetID and password.
- Complete Required Profile Setup
- If you havenโt already, after logging in, finish your profile: personal info, privacy settings, interests, and documents (resume/transcript).
- This step is essential. Many platform features are locked until your profile is completed.
- Find the Job Posting
- Navigate to the Jobs or Search Jobs tab. Use the search bar to enter Job ID: 359783 and run the search.
- Review and Apply
- Click the appropriate job title from the results to view full details.
- Click Apply, upload required documents (application materials stated in a previous section) and submit per the on-screen directions.
- Confirm Submission
- Look for an application confirmation email or check your Applications tab within HireAggies to ensure submission was successful.
